Santa Claus, Arizona, was a Christmas-themed roadside attraction 14 miles northwest of Kingman, AZ. Founded in 1937, the town operated as a tourist hub until its final businesses closed in 1995. The deteriorated structures were completely leveled and cleared during the early 2020s.The lifespan and history of this desert tourist stop are defined by specific key dates:1937: The town was founded by real estate agent Ninon Talbott to attract land buyers to the desert.1949: Due to a lack of permanent residents, Talbott sold the town to new owners.1954: The town's Christmas Tree Inn hosted a famous birthday party for actress Jane Russell, serving as a prominent stop along U.S. Route 66 and Highway 93.1993 - 1995: The Christmas Tree Inn closed its doors in 1993, and all remaining gift shops and attractions officially shut down in 1995.Early 2020s: Due to vandalism and neglect, the final remnants and structures of the ghost town were demolished. Today, the site is an empty ghost town with very little left to see.
